Producing hydrogen via water electrolysis could be a favorable technique for energy conversion, but the freshwater shortage would inevitably limit industrial application of electrolyzers. Being an inexhaustible resource on our planet, seawater can promising alternative electrolyte production. However, many challenges are hindering actual splitting, especially competing reactions relating to chlorine at anode that severely corrode catalysts. The execution direct needs efficient and robust electrocatalysts prevent interference resist different impurities. In recent years, researchers have made great advances in developing high-efficiency with improved activity stability.
